Services
Steamboat Flyfisher is the one-stop shop for all of your fishing and outdoor needs. We are a full service fly shop, and fishing is our focus. We offer the following services:
¤ Merchandise: Steamboat Flyfisher carries the finest fly fishing equipment available on the market. We carry full lines of Winston, Sage, Scott and Redington rods, as well as Simms waders. We've also got great travel and activewear made by some manufacturers that you've heard of and some made by up and coming companies that offer the newest innovations.
¤ Clinics and Instruction: We offer several free fly fishing clinics each week during the summer. On Saturday's at 1 PM, we offer a free beginner's casting clinic at the Elk Park (by the library.) This course goes over the basics of fly fishing: setting up a fly rod, balancing rods and reels, tying critical knots and the basics of the cast. For more intermediate casters, we offer a Tuesday afternoon clinic to perfect double hauling, roll casting and delicate presentations. We also offer fly tying clinics throughout the year. Call or stop by the shop for details!
¤ Guide Service: We have acquired some great private water in the immediate Steamboat Springs area on the Yampa River. With over twenty combined years of guiding experience, we bring comprehensive local knowledge of the fishing and wildlife issues in the area.
¤ Destination Fishing Program: We offer trips to groups to the Deschutes River, the Florida Keys, Belize, Baja and other exciting fishing destinations. Tim has spent the past two years fishing in the Florida Keys, and he is a licensed captain.
¤ Improved Website: We have updated the website with online shopping and up-to-date fishing reports of Colorado and various fishing destinations. We also have a blog feature, so you can share your fishing information (if it's not in your secret pool) and pictures. Customers are able to book online reservations, purchase equipment and get the latest fishing report on our site, www.steamboatflyfisher.com. The site is updated each morning with new photos, reports and news releases.
